Liverpool will be aiming to book its place in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup later as it hosts Chelsea at Anfield.
With Arsenal having been dumped out of the competition by League Two side Fleetwood, the path to Wembley looks to have opened up now, and Andoni Iraola may see a golden opportunity to secure a first piece of silverware in charge of the Reds.
He will have to overcome a tough test today though, as well as beat one of his close friends as Xabi Alonso makes his return to Merseyside, with the Spaniard having made a steady start in charge of Chelsea, although his side goes into today’s game off the back of a rare home defeat to Tottenham.

Liverpool has doubts over Florian Wirtz's fitness after he twisted his ankle against Brighton on Sunday. Iraola has indicated he expects him to be available today, although he needed to be assessed after training on Tuesday.
Dominik Szoboszlai and Victor Munoz are also doubts once again, having been out since picking up knocks at Brentford. The pair are thought to not be too far from a return, although today's game may come a little too soon for them.
Elsewhere, Jeremie Frimpong remains out injured, while long-term absentees Giovanni Leoni, Conor Bradley and Hugo Ekitike have not yet returned to training.
As for the visitors, Reece James is once again sidelined with a knee injury, while Emiliano Martinez, who arrived from Aston Villa in the summer, is out because of the fractured jaw he sustained last week.
Pep Chavarria missed the defeat to Spurs at the weekend, but Xabi Alonso has suggested new Chelsea signing Emmanuel Emegha, who came in from Strasbourg, could make his debut at Anfield.
Jamie Gittens is out for a few weeks and Cole Palmer is suspended after his red card. No exact return date has been confirmed for Joao Pedro, but Alonso has confirmed he will be missing again.
