Real Madrid monitoring Ajax midfielder Jorthy Mokio ahead of summer transfer window

Real Madrid are closely following Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Jorthy Mokio as they assess potential targets for next summer’s transfer market, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.

The 18-year-old defensive midfielder has impressed the Spanish club’s staff with a series of consistent performances since joining the Dutch side. However, Real Madrid’s interest has not yet progressed beyond monitoring and no formal offer has been made to Mokio’s representatives.

Ajax Amsterdam are in a strong negotiating position because Mokio’s contract runs until June 2031. Real Madrid will therefore have to assess the overall cost of any potential deal, while also considering the possibility that other clubs could enter the race.

Mokio, who was born in Ganda, has made 14 appearances in all competitions for Ajax Amsterdam since the start of the league campaign. He has scored one goal and provided two assists.

His current market valuation is €15m, although the situation will depend on whether Real Madrid decide to turn their interest into a formal approach during the next summer transfer window.

Ajax Amsterdam’s next fixture is a ninth-round Eredivisie match against FC Groningen.
