Estevao Willian’s Chelsea future could hinge on next three months

Chelsea winger Estevao Willian could consider leaving the club next year if his lack of regular first-team football continues, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.

The 19-year-old has largely been used as a substitute under manager Xabi Alonso and has started only two matches for the Blues this season. Both appearances came in the League Cup.

Romano says there are currently no specific indications that the Brazil international is close to leaving Chelsea. However, the situation could change before the winter transfer window closes, with the next three months likely to be significant for the player’s future.

If Estevao’s role does not improve during that period, the winger may seriously consider a move elsewhere in search of more consistent playing time.

Estevao joined Chelsea with a high profile and is valued at €80m by Transfermarkt.
