Endrick has left open the possibility of leaving Real Madrid in January, telling TNT Sports after the win over Roma that his future remains undecided, in comments carried by UOL.
“If I’m meant to leave in January, I’ll leave. If I’m meant to stay, I’ll stay,” he said.
The Brazilian also expressed gratitude to Jose Mourinho, praising the communication he has received from the coach and saying he would continue to fight for him and for Real Madrid. He spoke about taking each day as it comes and allowing his faith to guide his decision.
His comments followed Madrid’s remarkable 4-3 comeback at Roma on Wednesday. The Spanish club was still trailing 3-1 in the closing stages before Carlos Espi, Endrick and Antonio Rudiger scored within seven minutes to turn the match around.
Endrick had entered from the bench and helped create Espi’s goal before heading in the equalizer. He admitted afterward that Mourinho’s call had surprised him because he had gone some time without playing for Madrid.
Mourinho praised the attacking response after the victory, which gave Madrid six points from its opening two Champions League games. The coach felt his substitutions helped overwhelm a Roma team that had controlled much of the first half.
The January discussion follows earlier reports that Aston Villa could offer Endrick another loan spell. Cadena SER’s Francisco José Delgado identified the Premier League club as a possible destination, with Roma and Lyon also mentioned.
At the time of that report on October 7, Endrick had played only four minutes under Mourinho, against Elche on September 15, after missing the opening four league games with a muscle injury. His earlier loan at Lyon had produced eight goals and eight assists in 21 appearances, providing a recent example of the playing time he could find away from Madrid.
