Barcelona Star Forced Off With Injury During 4-2 PSG Defeat

FC Barcelona suffered their first defeat of the 2026-27 season as they traveled to Paris to play Paris Saint-Germain in their third UEFA Champions League match. It was an exciting game full of goals, but the Parisians eventually got the better of the Catalans, winning 4-2.

However, the defeat was not the only bad news the Blaugranes received yesterday nite. According to Mundo Deportivo, midfielder Dani Olmo also suffered an injury during the encounter, forcing him to leave the field after only 29 minutes.

The nature of the injury remained unclear, although PSG midfielder Vitinha stomped on him, causing him to fall awkwardly to the ground. While exiting the pitch, he was observed grabbing his groin, indicating that the ailment may be in that area of the body.

This must have been especially upsetting for Olmo, considering last night’s game marked his 100th appearance for Barcelona. Furthermore, he had been in good health for quite some time prior to this injury, with his last injury being in December, when he dislocated his shoulder after scoring a goal against Atletico Madrid. His last muscle injury occurred even before that, on October 10, 2025.

Since returning from his most recent injury in January of this year, he has been a key player for Flick, appearing in all 44 consecutive Blaugrana matches. 32 of these games took place last season, while the remaining 12 were played this season.

Dani Olmo is yet to undergo further examinations, which will provide a clearer understanding of the midfielder’s condition. However, he appears unlikely to be available for El Clasico, which is scheduled to take place in only four days.
