Bournemouth v Leeds – Bournemouth to Win

Marco Rose’s Bournemouth host Leeds United on Saturday, as the Cherries look to continue their recent impressive form.

Bournemouth are really starting to gel under Marco Rose, winning their last five matches by 2+ goals. In a run that started with a landslide success over European giants AC Milan, the Cherries come into this on the back of three consecutive 3-0 victories.

Leeds United are seventh in the league standings, but recent form and performances have been disappointing from the away side. The Whites are without a win in their last four league games, with two of those games ending in a 0-0 stalemate and the other being a 1-1 draw against bitter rivals Manchester United.

Daniel Farke’s side are also without a win in their previous three away games, further hinting at a Bournemouth win here.

Brentford v Nottingham Forest – Brentford to Win

Brentford might be without a win in their last four matches in all competitions, following their defeat to Sunderland in the cup in midweek, but they will still fancy their chances in this fixture.

The Bees have picked up 11 points this season, seven of which have come on home soil. The recent 2-1 defeat against Liverpool is the sole blemish on their record, and marks the only loss in their last nine home league matches.

As for Nottingham Forest, the Reds are also winless in their previous four games, with a draw against Ipswich Town (1-1) and three defeats against Arsenal (0-1), Crystal Palace (3-1) and Coventry City (0-1). The visitors sit 18th in the Premier League, having lost 50% of their league games this season, scoring six goals and conceding 10 in the process.

Coventry v Sunderland – Sunderland to Win

Ahead of this clash of the pre-weekend bottom two, Coventry have reverted back to their poor early season form. After two victories against Nottingham Forest (0-1) and Newcastle United (4-1), the Sky Blues followed that up with consecutive defeats against Tottenham Hotspur (3-1) and Fulham (0-1), leaving Frank Lampard’s side with six points from their eight league games this season.

Defensively, the home side have been suspect too, conceding first in six of their last eight matches, while failing to keep a clean sheet in each of their previous three.

It’s been a difficult season so far for Sunderland and their manager, Regis Le Bris. Last season’s success in the league brought European football to the Stadium of Light, and the added fixtures have disrupted the Black Cats’ flow.

However, the visitors appear to be turning a corner in recent matches, as they are unbeaten in their last three games in all competitions following their 3-2 home win against Brentford in the EFL Cup in midweek.

Hull v Ipswich – The Draw

Compared to Coventry, the other two newly promoted sides have made relatively solid starts to their respective league campaigns. Hull City and Ipswich Town each have 10 points after eight league games, but despite their standing as narrow favourites, there is reason to doubt the hosts, as they are without a league win since matchday two against Coventry City.

Yet, they are still unbeaten on home soil in the Premier League, with three draws on their record. It’s likely that the Tigers will end up conceding in this fixture, as Hull City are without a clean sheet in each of their previous six games.

As for Ipswich Town, the Tractor Boys have won two of their last five league games, while seven of their 10 points accumulated this season have come at Portman Road. Ipswich Town have found clean sheets hard to come by this season, however, as the visitors are without a shutout in their last 11 games.

The main problem for Ipswich Town is that they have conceded first in each of their previous seven games across all competitions. Yet, with the Tractor Boys rescuing seven points from their last five games after conceding first, they have the resilience to recover from any setbacks, making a draw seem like a very worthwhile pick.

Man City v Brighton – Man City to WIn

Manchester City and Brighton & Hove Albion meet for the second time in the space of three days on Saturday, as both sides are expected to go full strength following rotation in midweek. The EFL Cup tie between the two sides was decided by penalties, as Lewis Dunk had his decisive spot-kick saved by Geronimo Rulli.

The Citizens suffered their first league defeat of the season last weekend away at Aston Villa; however, the home side are still top of the league standings thanks to their goal difference. As well as that, Manchester City’s home record in the Premier League is excellent, with seven wins from their last eight league fixtures at the Etihad Stadium, and a 100% PL record there this term.

Yet to record a league win at the Etihad, Brighton & Hove Albion were beaten away at Anfield last weekend prior to their cup defeat at the hands of Manchester City. The Seagulls have 16 points this season, with six coming away from home (W2, L2), though they have lost five of their last seven league games away from home, in a sequence dating back to last season.

Enzo Maresca rested several key players in midweek, including Erling Haaland, who has scored seven goals in seven league games against Brighton & Hove Albion.
