Real Madrid's Clasico win over Barcelona will mean nothing unless Jose Mourinho's team follow it up, so says Kylian Mbappe.

Madrid won 2-1 at Camp Nou on Sunday, with Mbappe netting both of their goals.

Raphinha cancelled out Mbappe's first-half opener, but the Frenchman swept home Madrid's winner in the 87th minute.

Mbappe has now netted eight times against Barcelona for Madrid, while he has also reached 100 goals in all competitions for Los Blancos in just 116 games.

However, Mbappe insists Madrid, who are now three points behind Barca in LaLiga, must back this victory up

"It means nothing, it's Real Madrid, we have to keep going because five consecutive wins for us are nothing, we want to win every game," he told RMTV.

"This victory at Camp Nou sends a good message, but we can't think the season is over. Next week, we have to bring the same intensity."

Mbappe also insisted it was a complete team performance that resulted in Madrid's success, not just his goals.

"The truth is that the protagonist of the match is the team, the group, because we knew we had to play like men, a team game, and we've prepared well in recent matches because we've won, we've played well, with the right mentality, and we've given everything we have," he said.

"We had difficult moments in the match, moments that we dominated, and in the end, winning and still being in the title race is very important for us, but we have to keep going.

"We know that in the end, it's a big match, but it counts as three points, and we have to collect many points to win the league."

Madrid face Racing Santander in their next match on November 1.
