Contasting Historical Records for Betis and Barcelona

The statistical background under the Basque official reveals starkly different fortunes for the two clubs. Across 33 career matches handling Real Betis fixtures in all competitions, the verdiblancos have claimed 17 victories, six draws, and ten defeats. Meanwhile, FC Barcelona boasts 29 wins, one draw, and five losses across 35 encounters whistled by De Burgos Bengoetxea, as reported by Mundo Betis.

Real Betis Seeks First Victory Under De Burgos Since February 2024

Real Betis enters Saturday’s fixture carrying a two-and-a-half-year winless drought in matches whistled by De Burgos Bengoetxea. The club’s last success under his officiating came via a 0-2 away victory against Cádiz in February 2024. Subsequent fixtures under his watch yielded a 4-2 defeat away to Valencia at Mestalla during the 2024–25 season, followed by scoreless draws against Rayo Vallecano in Vallecas and a 2-2 derby stalemate against Sevilla at La Cartuja in 2025–26. In the ongoing campaign, Betis suffered its sole official defeat under his control by a 5-2 margin against Levante.

Barcelona Enters Match on Five-Game Winning Streak With Basque Official

While the Seville club struggles to secure results with the Basque referee, Barcelona enjoys a contrasting run of form. The Catalan side enters Saturday’s match riding a five-match winning streak under De Burgos Bengoetxea. Barcelona has not fallen in any fixture whistled by him since December 2024, maintaining clear momentum ahead of the La Liga weekend clash at La Cartuja.
