A video capturing the changing mood among cricket fans during India’s famous win over Pakistan in the 2022 T20 World Cup has resurfaced on social media. X (formerly Twitter) user Faiz Fazel shared the clip with the caption, “From ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ to ‘Chak De India’.” The video shows fans gathered at a public venue and watching the match on a large screen. Pakistan supporters can be heard singing ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ as they cheer for their team. The atmosphere shifts after Virat Kohli smashes a six off Haris Rauf. Indian fans then break into ‘Chak De India’, while the song also plays in the background.

The clip brings back memories of the high-pressure clash at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 23, 2022. Kohli’s stunning innings helped India pull off one of the most dramatic victories in T20 World Cup history.

Virat Kohli’s Unbeaten 82 Against Pakistan

Pakistan posted 159/8 in their 20 overs. Shan Masood scored an unbeaten 52 off 42 balls, while Iftikhar Ahmed contributed 51 off 34 deliveries. Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya took three wickets each for India.

India’s chase quickly fell apart as the team slipped to 31/4 inside seven overs. Kohli and Hardik Pandya steadied the innings with a 113-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Pandya scored 40 off 37 balls before his dismissal in the penultimate over.

Kohli’s Sixes Change the Momentum

With India under pressure, Kohli struck two crucial sixes off Rauf in the 19th over. The shots revived India’s chase and set up a tense final over.

India needed 16 runs from Mohammad Nawaz’s final over. The over featured a no-ball, a six, a wide and a free hit before Ravichandran Ashwin scored the winning run off the last delivery.

Kohli finished unbeaten on 82 off 53 balls, with six fours and four sixes. India chased down the target of 160 to win by four wickets.

Four years later, the video captures the emotions of that unforgettable contest.
