Remove the system aspect of it all and Araujo is our most inform defender at the moment. Espart was making strides until he got hurt and Cubarsi continues to show he needs a better CB partner to play well in big games.

IF we can’t find anyone in January worth bringing in we at least need to explore ending Araujo’s loan with Liverpool and bring him back as last ditch move. He’s a better RB than Garcia and Kounde (faster stronger and better in attack). All 3 guys are CBs playing RB so why not use the better of the 3 at RB which is Araujo. Flick really doesn’t care about defense so we might as well bring in someone who can help in attack and somewhat defend. He can also fill in at CB when needed we all know he’s better than Martin.

Both of the goals vs Madrid had nothing to do with the high line. In the end Martin couldn’t clear a cross and Cubarsi couldn’t defend one on one
