Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso could oversee a major squad clear-out as the Blues consider another move for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott.
The 23-year-old was a priority target during the summer transfer window, when Chelsea reportedly submitted three offers, including a £68 million bid.
Bournemouth rejected those approaches but are now reportedly willing to consider selling Scott in January if they receive an offer worth £100 million.
Scott has turned down contract extensions as he looks to leave the Vitality Stadium, potentially opening the door for Chelsea to revive their interest.
However, the Blues may need to sell several players to finance the deal, with football.london identifying four potential departures.
Alejandro Garnacho – £42.5m
Garnacho joined Aston Villa on loan after scoring eight goals in 43 appearances for Chelsea. His move could become permanent next summer if the conditions of a reported £42.5 million obligation-to-buy clause are met.
Jamie Gittens – £22m
The winger has struggled since arriving from Borussia Dortmund, scoring once in 27 appearances last season. Limited playing time and an injury have further complicated his prospects under Alonso.
Benoit Badiashile – £23m
The French defender joined Napoli on loan, with the Italian club reportedly holding an option to sign him permanently for £23 million. Chelsea could use that fee to strengthen their transfer budget.
Robert Sanchez – £13m
Sanchez moved to Como on a season-long loan after Chelsea signed Emiliano Martinez. With limited opportunities in Italy and competition from younger goalkeeper Mike Penders, his long-term future remains uncertain.
Together, the four players carry estimated values of £100.5 million, although those figures do not guarantee actual transfer fees.
Chelsea’s ability to raise funds could prove crucial if Alonso wants to bring Scott to Stamford Bridge in January.
