Barcelona and Real Madrid tracking Aston Villa midfielder Johan Manzambi

Aston Villa midfielder Johan Manzambi is being monitored by Barcelona and Real Madrid just four months after moving to the Premier League from SC Freiburg.

The 21-year-old Switzerland international joined Aston Villa in July for €60M and signed a contract at Villa Park running until June 2031.

Manzambi has made an immediate impact in England, scoring three goals and providing two assists across all competitions. His performances have established him as a box-to-box midfielder suited to the demands of the Premier League.

Reports from Football Insider indicate that interest from Spain remains at an early stage. Barcelona and Real Madrid are continuing to assess his development rather than making a formal approach at this point.

Manzambi is understood to be content with his progress at Aston Villa and his work under manager Unai Emery. He turned down other offers after the 2026 FIFA World Cup before deciding to move to Villa Park.

The two Spanish clubs are expected to keep monitoring the midfielder’s performances. The situation could be revisited if Aston Villa fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League in 2027.

Manzambi’s estimated transfer value has also increased significantly since his move to the club. After only four months in England, he is now valued at around £75M.
