Juventus is considering Folarin Balogun and Alexander Sorloth as January targets, according to Stefano Lanzo of Tuttosport. Luciano Spalletti wants another center-forward, and the report identifies both players as options the coach admires.
The Turin club has looked at the pair before. Planning remains at an early stage, with Tuttosport stressing that formal negotiations have yet to begin as Juventus prepares for the winter window.
Balogun’s situation at Monaco has drawn attention since his proposed summer move to Everton collapsed. The US international had traveled to England for medical checks before returning to the principality without completing a transfer.
Monaco chief Thiago Scuro later explained the sequence of events, saying Everton raised medical concerns before the clubs resumed their agreement. According to Scuro, Balogun then decided against the move because he felt badly treated. The striker had scored 19 goals in all competitions for Monaco the previous season.
Tuttosport reports that Balogun was left out of Monaco’s Conference League squad and suggests a January departure is possible. His agent, Jorge Mendes, has established contacts with Juventus, although the cost of a deal would still need to be addressed.
Sorloth offers another option after an injury disrupted the opening weeks of his season. He scored 20 goals for Atletico Madrid in 2025-26, excluding the Club World Cup, and Diego Simeone spoke about his importance while awaiting his return in September.
There is already a link between the clubs through Jonathan David. The Canadian joined Atletico on loan from Juventus on deadline day, with a reported €25 million option to make the move permanent.
David scored in each of his first three La Liga appearances, including the winner against Real Madrid. Tuttosport suggests his growing role could give Juventus an opening to revisit Sorloth, who has recovered from injury and is competing for a place in Simeone’s attack.
