Thierry Henry is working with Swiss sportswear brand On on a new range of football boots designed specifically for women players.
The former Juventus and Arsenal star is seeking to help make the sport better suited to the distinctive needs of female footballers. The project is intended to produce new boot models exclusively for women.
Henry is not working alone on the initiative. Swiss footballer Sydney Schertenleib is also involved in developing On’s new products.
The company plans to use its LightSpray technology, which is designed to produce ultra-light shoe uppers during mass production.
The collaboration represents another step towards creating football equipment tailored to women’s football rather than adapting products originally designed for men.
