FORMER NFL defensive powerhouse Ndamukong Suh has had a career worthy of being immortalized as a trading card.
And the 39-year-old revealed which one collectible he would love the most.
Before he was sacking quarterbacks and knocking over offensive linemen, Suh remembers collecting cards as a kid.
He spent 13 years in the National Football League, with the highlight being winning Super Bowl LV with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Trading cards have exploded in popularity in recent years with Suh’s former teammate Tom Brady a big investor.
Speaking to The Sun from an NFL x Topps event in London, Suh said, “I think collecting has always been there.
“I remember growing up and opening similar cards, and there was a real excitement to it. I remember going to the shops and, as a kid, going to basketball games and asking for my cards to be signed.
“Now, technology has elevated the experience. In some ways, it’s even more meaningful because people can become quite secluded in a digital world.
“Being able to interact with athletes in person and have those physical experiences is more meaningful than ever.”
Suh revealed he based his game on Reggie White, who was a two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
White played for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1985 to 1992 and won a Super Bowl during his time with the Green Bay Packers from 1993 to 1998.
Suh said, “I’d probably go for a player I idolised and based my game on in many ways.
“If I could get a signed Reggie White card, that would be the holy grail for me.
“I know that might be one that’s difficult to get, though.
“It’s about nostalgia and being able to bring childhood memories to life.
“We’re living in such a digital world, so being able to reconnect with those nostalgic feelings through something physical is really meaningful.”
The 39-year-old now works as an analyst on Sky Sports’ NFL coverage in the United Kingdom.
Suh said, “As a young kid coming from Portland, Oregon, to London, England, and immersing myself in this culture was one of the most exciting experiences.
