Abdellah Ouazane has established himself in the Ajax Amsterdam rotation and earned a senior call-up to the Morocco national team following a collapsed transfer to Real Madrid, according to reports from Foot Mercato. The 17-year-old winger has recorded three goals and three assists across 17 appearances in all competitions for the Dutch club this season.

Real Madrid Transfer Collapse Led Back to Ajax

More than a year ago, the Moroccan youth international appeared poised to join Real Madrid. The transfer fell through at the final stage due to an issue detected during his medical examination. The setback arrived shortly after Ouazane won the best player award at the Africa U17 Cup of Nations with Morocco.

Rather than leaving his formative club, Ouazane remained in Amsterdam. Ajax integrated the teenager into professional competition ahead of standard schedules.

Positional Switch and Eredivisie Impact

Initially developed as a central attacking midfielder who orchestrated play between the lines, Ouazane has shifted to the left wing under the technical staff at Ajax. The adjustment has not stunted his development in the Eredivisie. His technical ability, direct running style, and vision have added creativity to the Dutch attack through 17 matches.

Ajax manager Míchel assessed the teenager’s progress during a press conference. Il doit encore progresser oui, Míchel stated. Il doit gagner en régularité pendant les matchs. Il s’entraîne bien pour y parvenir. Le talent est là. Il est très talentueux.

Historic Senior Call-Up for Morocco

The winger’s club form drew attention from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation. Following his performances with the youth teams, manager Mohamed Ouahbi selected Ouazane for the senior Morocco squad during the international break.

The selection made him the second-youngest player in the history of the senior Moroccan national team, trailing only Hachim Mastour. This milestone places the teenage forward within the active international setup alongside established Atlas Lions.

Upcoming Fixtures for Club and Country

Ajax returns to domestic and European competition with Ouazane available in the matchday squad. The player prepares for subsequent Eredivisie fixtures and future international windows with Morocco.
