Tunisia’s Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying campaign began without a win after the Carthage Eagles drew with Uganda and Botswana during the September-October international window.
Mouine Chaabani’s side opened with a 1-1 draw against Uganda at home. Adem Arous put Tunisia ahead in the 12th minute, but Rogers Mato levelled for the visitors in the second half with a 68th-minute equaliser.
Tunisia were again forced to settle for a point in their second Group H match, drawing 2-2 with Botswana. Thatayaone Kgamanyane gave Botswana the lead in the 37th minute before Hazem Mastouri turned the game around with two goals. Lebogang Ditsele later restored parity for Botswana.
The Tunisians had been due to play a friendly against Mali in Rades on 3 October, but the match was cancelled by mutual agreement between the two federations after consultations with the national team coaches. As a result, Tunisia played twice during the international break and were unable to record a victory.
After two rounds of qualifying, Tunisia have two points, the same total as Botswana. Uganda lead Group H on four points, while Libya are bottom with one point.
