Haaland remains City’s leading Champions League scorer this season with four goals, despite being an unused substitute against AEK. Foden has moved immediately behind him after scoring his first Champions League hat-trick. His treble took him to three goals in this season’s competition, while Anderson and Cherki opened their European accounts for the campaign.

City have now scored nine goals across their opening three league-phase matches, with five arriving against AEK. Foden also provided the assist for Cherki’s goal on Tuesday, giving him three goals and an assist on the night.

Foden joins Haaland in City’s European scoring

Haaland dominated City’s first two European games, scoring both goals against Porto and another two in the defeat by PSG. The AEK victory produced a very different distribution of goals.

Anderson scored his first for City to open the scoring before Foden struck three times, with Cherki adding City’s other goal. It was Foden’s fourth hat-trick for the club and his first in the Champions League. Rico Lewis also played a significant role, setting up two of Foden’s goals as City recorded their second European victory of the season.

The result leaves Maresca’s side with two wins and one defeat from three games and six points in the league phase. Their next Champions League assignment is away to RB Leipzig on November 4 before Napoli visit the Etihad later that month.

This tracker will be updated after every Champions League fixture to reflect City’s latest results, remaining schedule and player statistics.
