Premier League leaders Manchester City aim to maintain their perfect start to the season this Saturday when they travel to face an in-form Aston Villa. The big news for City fans is the potential return of star striker Erling Haaland, who was rested during their midweek Champions League fixture against AEK Athens. While Haaland might be back, key players Mateo Kovacic, Nico O'Reilly, and Antoine Semenyo remain sidelined, with Semenyo facing an extended recovery period due to a knee injury.

Aston Villa, under Unai Emery, has shown significant improvement, boasting an impressive run of four wins and a draw in their last five outings across all competitions. This clash promises to be a stern test for City as they look to become only the third team in Premier League history to win their first eight games. Meanwhile, second-placed Arsenal will host Everton, but will be without their influential winger Bukayo Saka, who picked up a quadriceps injury in their Champions League match against Bayern Munich. Eberechi Eze, who replaced Saka in that game, is likely to start again, with coach Mikel Arteta having other options like Viktor Gyokeres and Mikel Merino to rotate his squad.

Other notable fixtures include Ipswich Town's home game against Nottingham Forest, with Forest under pressure after three consecutive defeats. Manchester United's coach Michael Carrick faces increased scrutiny after their 4-1 Champions League loss to Como, and a poor result against Bournemouth could intensify calls for a managerial change. Crystal Palace's coach Pierre Sage is also feeling the heat as his team prepares to face Newcastle United.
