Mumbai (Maharashtra): Cricket legend Sanath Jayasuriya brought star power to the official jersey unveiling for Mumbai Royals and Maharashtra Super Strikers, two prominent teams gearing up for the second season of the Indian Softball Cricket League (ISCL). The event, held at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, highlighted the league's growing ambition and its 'Gully to Glory' philosophy, aiming to provide a structured platform for grassroots cricketing talent.

Jayasuriya, a former Sri Lankan captain and all-rounder, emphasized the extraordinary passion for cricket in India and the importance of formats like ISCL in making the sport accessible to more players. "The Indian Softball Cricket League has an opportunity to encourage players who may not otherwise get a chance to compete on a bigger stage," he stated, wishing success to both franchises. Former India stars Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh are also associated with the ISCL as brand ambassadors, further boosting its profile.

The ceremony, led by ISCL Founder Gangadhar Raju and Chairman B.H. Anil Kumar, also saw the presence of Mumbai Royals owner Girish Gowda and Maharashtra Super Strikers owner Kiran Suratkal. Dignitaries, including former Jalgaon Mayor Lalit Kolhe, and brand ambassadors Sadhvi Sail (Miss India World 2026 for Mumbai Royals) and Manika Vishwakarma (Miss India Universe 2026 for Maharashtra Super Strikers) added to the glamour. With Sony Sports Network as its broadcast partner and Screenox for cinema, ISCL Season 2 promises extensive reach, aiming to build a sustainable and engaging platform for softball cricket.
