Swansea City's Vitor Matos on Premier League club's radar as report emerges

The Swans boss has seemingly made a huge impression following a superb start to the season

Crystal Palace have reportedly placed Swansea City boss Vitor Matos on their list of possible replacements for Pierre Sage, whose position at Selhurst Park is looking increasingly precarious.

Palace were thumped 5-0 by bitter rivals Brighton and Hove Albion at the weekend, and is believed to have sparked deep concern within the club's hierarchy.

Sage has overseen just two wins so far, and a report from TeamTALK claims there have already been moves to explore possible alternatives.

Matos, it's claimed, is one of those possible options, with Welshman Rob Edwards, Scott Parker and Kieran McKenna among the others mentioned.

Vitor getting noticed

The Portuguese coach has guided Swansea to their best start to a league season for 103 years, sparking suggestions they could now be about to muscle in on the promotion reckoning this term.

Reports have suggested Swansea's progress has caused a number of clubs to sit up and take notice, with teams from across the Premier League and Europe keeping tabs.

Despite a defeat to West Ham United at the weekend, Swansea remain at the top of the Championship, and Matos was full of praise for the way his side competed on the day.

Opposite number Nuno Espirito Santo was also complimentary, stating afterwards: "Swansea is a very good team.

"Vitor is doing an amazing job, the way he puts the boys to play, the way they are organised, their belief until the final moments, the problems that they create.

"We knew that it was going to be tough. It's a very tough opponent, a very good team of football.

"It's not easy to try and block Swansea," Nuno added.

"They are very dynamic, they have the wingers one-v-one, they have speed, they run the channel, [they have] a very good striker that always gives good mobility."
