Despite picking up a win on Thursday Night Football, the Broncos' Bo Nix was subject to plenty of criticism from a less-than-impressed analyst, Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Nix got off to a terrific start with the Broncos, helping them to the playoffs in his first season, before clinching a division title last year.

However, after a poor performance versus the Seattle Seahawks in his latest game, Fitzpatrick made his stance on the 26-year-old clear; he expects much more.

Defense proved crucial in Denver picking up a 17-14 win over the Seahawks. Their quarterback, Sam Darnold was picked off, and this gave the Broncos the platform to take victory.

However, the same couldn't be said about their offensive capabilities. They struggled to make things happen; this was perhaps best epitomised by them racking up just 168 yards of total offense.

Nix hasn't been off to the best start as he faced similar struggles against the Chargers, in what was a 123-yard passing game. On Thursday, Nix averaged just 4 yards per attempt, this becoming his lowest of the season.

Thursday Night Football analyst Fitzpatrick even accused Nix of "not wanting to throw the ball".

NFL Quarterback Accused of Being Disrespectful to His Position

Having played 17 years at quarterback for nine different NFL teams. It's not necessarily a surprise that the veteran was frustrated by what he's seeing from Nix.

Fitzpatrick fumed: "Bo Nix is not playing competitively. It's almost disrespectful to the quarterback position how he's playing football." When defending his points, Fitzpatrick discussed the lack of trust from his coach, Sean Payton, and how he's letting the team down in some huge moments.

"And then, in overtime, he's got two chances to be competitive, the second one being a designed run for him to run, make someone miss and get a first down for your football team! Now they're in the locker room right now, they're excited they won. He's not playing competitive football right now," he explained.

He later elaborated on the criticism, as per Pro Football Talk. He said: "And right now he's taking it for granted. He is. And there's a lot of guys that have played this game that watch that game that think, that right there is garbage. That effort is garbage. That is not a quarterback in the NFL. We deserve better."
