After being named the winner of the 2026 Ballon d’Or on Monday night, Harry Kane took to social media to share a message: “Work hard in silence. Let success be your noise.”

The day after lifting the prestigious award, the 33-year-old Bayern Munich star explained the meaning behind the post in an interview with Sky Sports.

“It's a quote that I've kind of lived by for a lot of my career," Kane said, adding:

"I think it sums up my story. I like to do the work behind the scenes. Sometimes when no one's watching is the best time to improve and let everything else explode on the pitch. There's no better way to prove that than winning this award.”

Kane also admitted that winning the Ballon d’Or still “feels like a dream” as he continues to take in the achievement.

“It sounds crazy, but it also sounds pretty good. What a special night. It's an incredible, incredible feeling. I'm still just trying to take it all in. It really feels like a dream," Kane said, before describing the emotions he experienced when his name was announced as the winner.

“The emotion, just relief, joy, happiness, excitement… I was so much waiting to find out the winner, and in that moment it was quite nerve-wracking. To have that kind of release and then be able to share it everyone there in the theatre was special.”
