FPL injury update: Haaland, Saka, Szoboszlai, Gibbs-White, Calvert-Lewin latest for GW8

Express Sport rounds up the latest FPL injury news ahead of this weekend's matches.

Another weekend of Premier League football is nearly upon us, with all 20 clubs in action over the next few days. It will start at Portman Road on Friday night when Ipswich Town seek their fourth victory of the campaign against Nottingham Forest. There are only four fixtures on Saturday with Manchester City entertaining Aston Villa, Coventry City facing Fulham, Arsenal going up against Everton and Chelsea battling Tottenham in the evening kick-off.

Another five matches will take place on Sunday, with Manchester United's game against Bournemouth the pick of the bunch.

Liverpool will host Brighton and Hove Albion, while Hull City entertain Fulham and Crystal Palace take on Newcastle United. The final game of the weekend sees Sunderland go up against Leeds United.

Manchester City v Ipswich Town - Premier League 2026/27
Haaland played no part against AEK Athens in midweek after picking up a knock in last weekend's victory over Ipswich Town, but is available to play against Aston Villa on Saturday. Speaking on Thursday, Enzo Maresca said that Haaland was "100 per cent" ready to return after his short period of rest. (Image: Getty)
FC Bayern München v Arsenal FC - UEFA Champions League 2026/27 League Phase MD3
Saka won't be involved for Arsenal this weekend after he was forced off during their Champions League draw with Bayern Munich. Mikel Arteta said on Friday: "He's going for an MRI this afternoon because he had a lot of fluid in the area so it was difficult to understand the severity of the injury. We will know tomorrow. We need a few more scans and opinions from the specialists, when a player is struggling to walk off the pitch and he's restricted in his movement, they are not good signs." (Image: Getty)
Brentford v Liverpool - Premier League 2026/27
Szoboszlai is still unavailable after he suffered a recurrence of the hamstring injury he picked up on international duty earlier this month. Andoni Iraola said: "Dom is going to be out this weekend. I don't think he's far but he hasn't trained with the group still, and also considering the other day that we started him and he had to go out, we will probably take one or two days more than we would last week. He's in a good place. Dom is already training outside alone and is going to train with the group, but he's not ready for this one." (Image: Getty)

Morgan Gibbs-White

Crystal Palace FC v Nottingham Forest FC - Premier League 2026/27
Oliver Glasner has confirmed that Gibbs-White is likely to be involved in Friday's game against Ipswich Town, saying: "I think you could also see that without Morgan Gibbs-White, we had a very competitive team against the champions. This gives us confidence because we lost without Morgan and with Morgan. He’s an important part, but he can’t win the game alone, so we need a top team performance, but it’s good to have him back."
