Leicester City are back in League One action on Tuesday night.

After Leicester’s 2-1 win against Doncaster Rovers on Saturday afternoon, it’s a quick turnaround to the next fixture away at Bromley tomorrow night.

Just over 72 hours separate the two games, so Russell Martin will be forced to change a winning team in order to have fresh legs and avoid injuries.

Martin may also revert to a four-at-the-back system to match up the same shape as Bromley, so here is the line-up the Leicester boss could field at the Copperjax Community Stadium.

TalkingPoints

Leicester City will soon find out who they will face in the first round of the FA Cup. But who do you want and why? Local ties like Harborough Town and Anstey Nomads are a genuine possibility 👀

Russell Martin could make wholesale changes vs Bromley

Ideally, Martin wouldn’t have to change a winning team, but there may be quite a few players who are close to the red zone, and there’s no need to risk injury considering the size of the squad.

Alex McCarthy will retain his usual spot in goal, but it’ll be a changed defence ahead of him. Olabade Aluko comes in at right-back with Harry Souttar partnering Caleb Okoli.

Martin will likely want two physical defenders to deal with Bromley in the air as the hosts may look to go long rather than play through the lines. Christian McFarlane replaces Luke Thomas at left-back, if indeed he’s back available after injury.

Moving into the midfield, captain John Lundstram stays in the team next to Louis Page, who given his age, will need less recovery time than the older guard.

City could line up with two new wingers in Harry Howell and Tommy Watson. Neither featured against Doncaster, so they’ll be fit and raring to go.

Conor Chaplin returned from injury at the weekend and got around 20 minutes under his belt, so he could start in the number 10 role.

And up front, Emil Riis keeps his place. The summer signing from Bristol City has been one of the standout performers this season.

So, here is Martin’s predicted starting line-up against Bromley on Tuesday evening.

McCarthy; Aluko, Souttar, Okoli, McFarlane; Lundstram, Page; Howell, Chaplin, Watson; Riis.
