Juventus may already believe they have snagged a huge bargain from Tottenham Hotspur in Pape Sarr, who joined the Serie A giants late in the summer window.
When Tottenham spent a combined £185m on Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, it was always clear that at least one midfielder would have to be sacrificed.

That player happened to be Sarr, who was signed by Juventus on an initial loan deal with a £22.3m obligation to buy next summer, which will be triggered if the 24-year-old plays 50 per cent of the club’s matches this season.
After a quiet start to his spell at Turin, the on-loan Spurs man began impressing in the weeks prior to the international break, and the midfielder has been going from strength to strength since.
The Bianconeri came from 1-0 down at half-time to beat Celta Vigo 2-1 in the Europa League in Spain on Thursday, and the midfielder was the star of the show.
Sarr played all 90 minutes and was given a 7.9/10 rating by FotMob. Here are his individual stats from the game:
Gazzetta dello Sport wrote about the midfielder’s performance against Celta: “Sarr has shown that he can become a crucial figure in the Bianconeri’s midfield. He’s highly effective at breaking up play and in transition, although he still needs to improve in the final third.”
Tottenham chose against signing Randal Kolo Muani permanently on the back of his struggles on loan at N17 last season.
It appears that the Frenchman has rediscovered some confidence and form since his return to Turin, with the forward netting the match-winner in stoppage time against Celta.
It was the France international’s third goal of the season, with two assists in just eight games for Juve.
