Harry Kane Set Eyes On Second Ballon d'Or After Historic Triumph

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has revealed that he is already setting his sights on winning a second Ballon d’Or after being crowned the world’s best player at Monday’s ceremony in London.

The England captain beat Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal to the prestigious individual award following an outstanding 2025/26 campaign.

Kane’s triumph made him the first Englishman to win the Ballon d’Or since former Liverpool striker Michael Owen claimed the honour in 2001.

However, the 33-year-old has insisted that his latest achievement will not diminish his hunger for further success.

According to ESPN, Kane described receiving the award from Brazilian legend Ronaldo, one of his childhood idols, as an unforgettable experience.

What Kane Said

“I spoke about my doctor Alejandro [Elorriaga Claraco.] We work so much together.

“We spend so much time alone, in the room, on a treatment table, with needles, all those sacrifices, sauna’s, ice baths, time that I would love to spend with my kids, with my family, with my wife, but it’s all part of the dedication.

“To be at the very top level, you have to sacrifice some time and some things so this trophy is reward for all those people in my life.

“The way I train, the way I play, it is always like I am 15 and 16 with a point to prove.

Kane Keen On Another Ballon d’Or Gong

“Yeah, that’s got me to winning this amazing trophy. Even now, winning this, already I am thinking about, ‘OK, let’s see if we can be even better and let’s see if I can win it again?’ And that will always be my mindset until the day I choose to retire.”

Kane’s victory followed a remarkable campaign in which he scored 73 goals in 65 appearances for club and country.

His performances helped Bayern Munich secure domestic silverware, while England finished third at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Nevertheless, the former Tottenham captain remains determined to add more major trophies to his collection.

“Being here in London, it was a good omen for me and it’s been too long. We have so many incredible English players. Me growing up, watching the greats, for none of those guys to be able to win this award is obviously a shame,” Kane said.

“So, to put us back on the map and be here with this trophy, I am extremely proud.

“I still have a lot to achieve in the game, from the Champions League at club level to winning a major trophy with England, that’s a number one priority for sure so there are so many great things that I want to achieve.”

The England captain was keen to avoid an extended celebration following Monday’s ceremony, with Bayern scheduled to face Magdeburg in the DFB-Pokal on Wednesday.

For Kane, the Ballon d’Or represents a defining moment in his career, but his determination to win another suggests he has no plans to slow down.
