New Delhi, Oct 27: The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2027 auction pool has expanded with the addition of four new players, bringing the total to 150. This decision comes at the request of the five franchises. Notably, India wicketkeeper-batter G. Kamalini will now be fully available for the entire WPL season, a significant development for the upcoming auction.

The newly added players are Delhi all-rounders Medhavi Bidhuri and Samaira Raghav, New Zealand pacer Bree Illing, and Uttar Pradesh bowler Avanya Jain. The auction is scheduled to commence at 5:30 PM in Kochi on Wednesday.

Kamalini's full availability is a key update; previously, her participation was uncertain due to a potential clash with the 2027 U-19 World Cup. This clarity means the young talent, who was released by Mumbai Indians and has a base price of Rs 40 lakhs, could attract substantial bids, especially given the high demand for wicketkeeper-batters to fill the 27 available slots.

Medhavi Bidhuri is recognized for her '6-7' celebration in the Delhi Premier League, while Samaira Raghav impressed in the U19 Women’s T20 Trophy. Both have earned their spot in the auction pool through recent performances. With each team's purse at Rs 15 crore, UP Warriorz have the most to spend at Rs 3.75 crore, aiming to strengthen their squad. Other teams like Gujarat Giants, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Delhi Capitals, and Mumbai Indians also have strategic spending plans to finalize their rosters.
