Greece won gold at the AirBadminton European Championships in Ancient Olympia on Friday 16 October, beating Bulgaria 60-52 in the final, the Hellenic Olympic Committee said.

Greece reached the final for the first time after beating the Netherlands 60-39 on the evening of Thursday 15 October. That result already guaranteed a medal and a place at the AirBadminton World Cup.
In the semi-final, the men’s triple of Tsamousiadis, Sarougiannidis and Tsigirdakis closed out the match. Bulgaria reached the final after a 60-59 semi-final win over Türkiye.
Giannis Halatsoglou and Kostas Raftopoulos coach the team. Players in the Greek squad also included Lambrianidou, Liakou and Moutevelidou, according to BWF match records.
AirBadminton is an outdoor version of badminton, launched by the BWF in 2019. It is played on sand, grass or hard courts with a wind-resistant shuttle, and the team relay is scored to 60 points across several matches.
The AirBadminton European Championships, officially the BWF AirBadminton European Continental Championships, ran from 14 to 16 October in Ancient Olympia. Host nation Greece topped a team relay field that also included Lithuania, Germany, Azerbaijan, Spain, Switzerland and Croatia.
