Michael Olise of Bayern Munich has reportedly signed a major boot deal with Nike that will earn him millions.
The website Footy Headlines reports that Bayern Munich star Michael Olise will succeed Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappe at the American sportswear manufacturer, after Mbappe's surprise move to Swiss footwear manufacturer On.
Until now, Olise has had no equipment sponsorship deal because he turned down all approaches from the major manufacturers. He insisted on choosing his own boots. He often picked the Nike Hypervenom Phantom III, which has not been manufactured since 2019.
According to the report, Olise sourced the pairs he wore on the pitch online and had them shipped to him from around the world. Artists often customised the boots for him before he wore them in training sessions and matches.
What do Nike have planned for Michael Olise?
Nike now plan to bring back the legendary Hypervenom range with Olise in 2027 and discontinue the Phantom range instead. Nike unveiled the Hypervenom in 2013, and Nike superstar Neymar wore the boot at the time.
