The Baltimore Ravens are reportedly finalizing a trade for Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett, bringing an experienced veteran into an offense devastated by injuries. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter, the deal is expected to be completed this weekend, giving Baltimore another quarterback option with Lamar Jackson sidelined indefinitely and Tyler Huntley out for the remainder of the season.
The potential acquisition follows Ravens Wire identifying Brissett as a possible trade target on November 2, citing his experience and potential fit with Baltimore's coaching staff.
Here are five things to know about the veteran quarterback.

Brissett began his college career at Florida before transferring to NC State, where he became the Wolfpack's starting quarterback. He developed a reputation as a strong, physical passer who could manage an offense and extend plays. New England selected him in the third round of the 2016 NFL draft, making him the 91st overall selection.
The Patriots provided Brissett with his first NFL opportunity before trading him to Indianapolis in 2017.
Brissett has spent 11 seasons in the NFL, appearing in 109 games with New England, Indianapolis, Miami, Cleveland, Washington, and Arizona. He has made 73 starts, compiling 16,485 passing yards, 86 touchdowns, and 39 interceptions. His most extensive early starting opportunities came with Indianapolis, where he replaced an injured Andrew Luck in 2017 and later returned to the starting role in 2019. Brissett has also served as a bridge starter and experienced backup throughout his career, making him familiar with stepping into difficult situations.
Brissett enjoyed one of his most productive seasons with the Cardinals in 2025, appearing in 14 games and starting 12. He completed 315 of 485 passes for 3,366 yards, 23 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. His 94.1 passer rating demonstrated his ability to produce as an experienced NFL starter.
Brissett returned to Arizona in 2026 and has thrown for 1,719 yards, 10 touchdowns, and seven interceptions through eight games. Those numbers give Baltimore a quarterback with considerably more regular-season experience than its current healthy options.
Brissett worked with Israel Woolfork during the 2025 season in Arizona, giving him an established relationship with a member of Baltimore's coaching staff. That connection could be significant because Brissett would need to learn offensive coordinator Declan Doyle's system after joining the team during the regular season. Woolfork's familiarity with Brissett could help identify concepts that fit his strengths and speed up his preparation.
However, Baltimore would still need to make adjustments because Brissett does not possess the same rushing ability or playing style as Jackson.
The Ravens started undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano against Jacksonville on Thursday, but Brissett's arrival should change the quarterback situation. Fagnano has limited regular-season experience, while recently signed Kedon Slovis has appeared in only two NFL games. Brissett offers Baltimore a veteran who can run an NFL offense while Jackson recovers from thumb surgery.
Brissett's extensive experience makes him a significant addition to a Ravens team attempting to remain competitive in the AFC playoff race.
