Rivers United and Enugu Rangers drew 1-1 in Port Harcourt. Chijioke Mbaoma scored on 18 minutes. Godwin Obaje levelled early in the second half and was later sent off, Complete Sports reported. Kano Pillars beat Nasarawa United 2-0 through Ibrahim Yahaya and Fabian Nworie, Bendel Insurance came from behind to win 2-1 at Kwara United, Shooting Stars beat Abia Warriors 4-1 with two goals from Sodiq Ibrahim, and Katsina United beat Sporting Lagos 2-1 with a first-half double from Dadong. Enyimba edged Kun Khalifat 1-0 through Tobi Iyanda. Doma United drew 2-2 with Ikorodu City after two Bitrus Philemon goals. Plateau United and Warri Wolves drew 1-1, as did Inter Lagos and Ranchers Bees. Niger Tornadoes and Barau finished 0-0 on 30 October.

Our view

Rivers United hold first place on goal difference. Five conceded in 11 is the best defence in the league. One win in five and four points from five away trips are the numbers of a side being caught. Bendel Insurance have the best home record of the four and the worst away record, three points from five games. Enugu Rangers are best placed of the four. Their two games in hand would bring four points at their current rate of 2.00 a game. Two wins would put them on 24, six clear of anyone who has played 11. Bendel Insurance's ceiling is 21. Any ban for Obaje could spoil the arithmetic.
