Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho extended his scoring streak to 12 consecutive league matches on Sunday, finding the net in Bursaspor’s 4-2 victory over Keçiörengücü in the Turkish 1. Lig.
The 30-year-old scored in the 50th minute at Aktepe Stadium, putting Bursaspor ahead after an entertaining first half.
Iheanacho’s latest strike extended his scoring run beyond his previous best of 11 consecutive league matches.
He had also surpassed the nine-match benchmark associated with Turkish football greats Metin Oktay and Saffet Sancaklı.
The former Leicester City and Celtic forward has now scored 16 goals and provided three assists in 12 league appearances for Bursaspor this season.
His consistent form has made him a key figure in Bursaspor’s campaign, with the Nigerian continuing to deliver in front of goal.
Iheanacho will look to extend his scoring streak when Bursaspor host Bandırmaspor in their next league fixture on Saturday.
