CAFCL: Tensions Rise Between Club Africain and CAF

Tension and uncertainty are running high in Lubumbashi ahead of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round match.

The Tunisian team Club Africain, led by head coach Maher Kanzari, did not attend the initial pregame press conference, scheduled for this Friday ahead of their match against TP Mazembe.

This notable absence plunged the organization into utter confusion. The CAF delegation, which was also absent from the 11:30 a.m. meeting at Kamalondo Stadium, had to step in urgently to resolve this logistical and regulatory glitch.

In light of this breach of the competition’s official media protocols, CAF has issued a new ultimatum to the Tunisian club. The continental governing body has set a new deadline of 2:30 p.m. for the pre-match press conference to take place.

In the event of a second refusal or confirmed absence at this new time, Club Africain faces severe financial and disciplinary sanctions from the Confederation of African Football.

Fans and observers are now waiting to see whether the Tunisian team will comply with the requirements set by the CAF delegates.
