‘Worst Way To Lose’ –Rogers Heartbroken After Chelsea Exit From Carabao Cup

Chelsea attacker Morgan Rogers has expressed his frustration following his side’s heartbreaking penalty shootout elimination against Liverpool, describing the defeat as “probably the worst way to lose a game.”

The dramatic cup tie went the distance after a tightly contested 90 minutes, with neither side able to find a decisive breakthrough in regulation time.

The contest was ultimately decided from twelve yards, where Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana let his side down by missing the crucial, deciding spot-kick to hand Liverpool the victory.

With the shootout triumph secured, Liverpool have officially booked their place in the next round of the competition, where they are scheduled to face Bournemouth.

Speaking in a post-match interview with ITV Sport, a visibly disappointed Rogers rued his team’s inability to capitalize on key moments despite matching the Reds for large spells of the encounter.

“It is probably the worst way to lose a game,” Rogers admitted. “It was an even game and at times we had the better of it. I had half chances that I’d have liked to have put away. It was one of them that can go either way and you have to accept it.”
