“Business as usual” – PSG coach refuses to give his players an excuse after triple blow
“Business as usual” – PSG coach refuses to give his players an excuse after triple blow

PSG are missing some important players, but that’s not an excuse says manager Luis Enrique, who still expects the best.

PSG have been hit by a wave of injuries, with three first team stars coming off against Barcelona in midweek.

But manager Luis Enrique isn’t going to let them use that as an excuse. In his press conference today he insisted that he still expected his team to be at the very top level, as they had been despite losing key players against Barca.

Lucho promises “business as usual” after losing 3 players in one game

“No, we’re not going to let up. We’re a family. There are 2-3 injured players, but that’s competition and the top level. You have to accept things. We’re the same team with and without the injuries,” the Spanish coach said.

“That’s football. We played without Dembélé for almost the entire match against Barça, we played without Marquinhos and Kvara at the end. And we showed that we play the same way. That’s our strength.

“It will be business as usual. I don’t want to change anything I’ve done, but I also want to change everything. That’s what you have to do to remain unpredictable. It depends on the team and the time of year. It’s true that losing 3 players in the same game is strange. It’s a motivation for us as a team. We’re moving on to improve.”

Luis Enrique has denied PSG are going to sign a player in January to make up for the loss of Khvicha Kvarastkhelia.

The PSG Barcelona game earlier this week broke TV records for a Champions League game in this phase.
