Jamilu Murtala, a football supporter also known as Bahago, has been suspended from all Nigeria Premier Football League activities with immediate effect over alleged persistent threats to the safety of match officials and visiting teams.
The decision follows a complaint from Ranchers Bees, who currently play their home matches at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
The Kaduna-based club raised concerns about Murtala’s access to restricted areas around the pitch during their home fixtures. In a petition to the NPFL, Ranchers Bees said they were not associated with the supporter and accused him of repeatedly disrupting matches and acting as a nuisance during games at the stadium.
After considering the complaint, the league ruled that Murtala should be barred from all NPFL activities. The suspension is intended to protect match officials, visiting teams and other stakeholders, as well as preserve order at league venues.
Ranchers Bees will next travel to Ibadan on Sunday for an NPFL fixture against Shooting Stars.
Their following home match is scheduled for Sunday, October 25, when they will host Doma United.
