Bournemouth break 53yr record in European competitions

Premier League club, Bournemouth, have become the first English team to win it’s first three opening games while performing in European competition since the 1973.

Bournemouth earned the feat after trouncing AC Milan 3-0 as well as another earlier 3-0 pummeling of Stum Grass and 2-1 against Real Sociedad in this campaign’s Europa League competition.

The Cherries enveloped Sunderland, who were the earlier holders of the record achieved in 1973/74 season through two first half goals from Justin Kluivert, Marcus Tavernier before Amine Adli completed the dismantling of the Italian side in the second half yesterday at the Vitality Stadium, after getting the wins over Stum Grass and Sociedad in Match Day One and Two, respectively.

The team could as well extend the record breaking streak with a win when they face Sparta Prague on November 5 away from home.

The victories place the side in third position of the competition’s table on nine points, same as Benfica and Bayern Leverkusen who occupy the first and second spots respectively.
