Michael Hayes says he is "so sick of surgeries" and needs more, with his shoulder "really bad." He also credited DDP Yoga with helping him drop 50 pounds.
Michael Hayes says he needs more surgery, and that one of his shoulders is “really bad.”
Hayes went through his surgeries with Stephanie McMahon on the latest episode of What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon.
“I had the hip replaced in ’20. I had this replaced in ’22. I had this replaced in ’24. I’m so sick of surgeries,” Hayes said. “And I need more.”
“I’m really sick of the recoveries,” he added.
Hayes said he never took pain medication after his operations. “I would never take pain medication when I had all those surgeries. They give me oxy. I was never a pill guy,” he said.
Asked if he needs more surgery, Hayes said, “Oh, I do. Yeah, this shoulder’s really bad.”
Hayes said Wegovy and DDP Yoga have helped him lose weight and improved his mobility.
“I got on Wegovy about a year and two months ago. And I started doing DDP Yoga,” Hayes said. “And man, I’ve dropped 50 pounds. And my mobility is so much better now. So much better.”
“It’s not the hardest thing in the world to do, but you get results from it,” he continued. “It’s very hard at first, but once you get in the routine…”
Hayes said Diamond Dallas Page made him his own programs, starting with a chair workout before moving on to balance, knees, arms, back and chest. He said he now uses bands instead of weights, which has made “such a difference on my shoulders.”
“My shoulders are horrible. Even the one that got fixed ain’t great. It’s better than it was. I think my expectation level was way too high for all my surgeries,” Hayes said. “The only one that really worked for me was my hip because it’s a lot better. Yet I feel the left one starting to do the little twinges. So that’s probably another thing I got to look forward to in a couple of years.”
Hayes also said one of his surgeries was canceled a week before it was scheduled because he had not done prehab, which he said no one had told him about.
On the same episode, Hayes revealed he is two years sober.
Hayes, 67, is a WWE Hall of Famer as a member of the Fabulous Freebirds and has worked behind the scenes for WWE for decades as a producer.
We wish Michael Hayes the best with his recovery.
