Cristiano Ronaldo has sent an emotional message of support to Paris Saint-Germain forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Ronaldo reached out to Kvaratskhelia during what has been described as a difficult period for the Georgian winger.
Ronaldo urged the 25-year-old to remain focused and not allow his current struggles to affect his confidence.
“The hardest battles in football are often ones nobody sees,” Ronaldo said.
“I know that feeling, Kvara. But never forget what brought you this far, and don’t let a difficult moment make you doubt how far you can go.
“Keep that fire on. Your best is still to come.”
Kvaratskhelia has previously spoken about his admiration for Ronaldo, who has been his idol since childhood.
The message from the Portugal captain is therefore likely to carry particular significance for the PSG star as he looks to overcome his current difficulties.
Ronaldo’s words also underline the pressures elite footballers face away from the pitch, particularly during challenging periods in their careers.
