Black Maidens head coach Joe Nana Adarkwa has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to defeat Canada in their final group-stage match at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, insisting that victory is the only option if Ghana are to progress to the next round.

Ghana head into the decisive encounter knowing that their tournament ambitions depend on securing all three points against the Canadians. With qualification at stake, Adarkwa has challenged his players to build on their performance against Brazil and deliver a stronger display.

Speaking ahead of the match, the Ghanaian coach stressed that his players understand the importance of the fixture and the consequences of failing to win.

“They know what is at stake. We have no option but to win. We will build on our performance against Brazil and improve on it to ensure we get the result we need,” Adarkwa said.

The Black Maidens coach acknowledged the significance of the challenge but remained emphatic about his side’s determination to secure the required result.

“Without a win, we cannot progress from the group, so we have to win, and we will win,” he added.

Ghana will need to demonstrate greater efficiency in front of goal while maintaining defensive discipline against a Canadian side that will also be eager to finish the group stage strongly.

For Adarkwa and his players, the encounter represents a defining moment in their campaign. The team must translate their determination into a disciplined and effective performance to keep their hopes of advancing in the competition alive.

With the stakes clear, the Black Maidens will be looking to rise to the occasion and deliver when it matters most.
