Worthing and Southend share six goals in thriller

Jordan Young’s 76th-minute leveller denied Southend victory at Worthing as a six-goal thriller ended 3-3 in the National League.

Oli Coker fired the Shrimpers ahead in the 16th minute when running on to a Kyle McAdam cross to tuck home and seven minutes later Promise Omochere doubled their lead by blasting the ball in off the crossbar.

Worthing managed to draw themselves level with two quick goals either side of the hour mark.

First Dominic Johnson-Fisher produced a fine solo finish after picking the ball up in his own half, racing into the box and finding the top corner. Provider turned scorer as Johnson-Fisher picked out Cory Adjetey-Brew for a tap-in.

However, three minutes later Southend regained the upper hand as Tyreece Simpson notched on his debut before Young’s late equaliser capped a crazy game.
