According to the London Evening Standard on Friday, October 23, 2026, Piero Hincapié took part in a full training session that morning, offering Arsenal a timely boost ahead of their Premier League fixture against Everton.
The Ecuadorian defender has been out since picking up an unusual injury during the post-match warm-down after Arsenal’s 2–1 victory over Leeds earlier this month. He consequently missed the match against Nottingham Forest.
Before Wednesday’s Champions League game against Bayern Munich, Hincapié had resumed individual training, raising hopes among Arsenal supporters that he might return sooner than expected.
Manager Mikel Arteta had suggested the 24-year-old could be sidelined for several weeks. However, his chances of featuring against Everton have improved now that he is back training with the squad.
“Piero, we’ll see,” Arteta said when asked about the defender’s recovery. “It would be fantastic if he could train over the next few days and be available for Everton.”
Hincapié appeared in good spirits when he returned to training on Friday. Teammates and staff welcomed him, forming a tunnel for him to pass through before practice and cheering him on with playful pats on the head.
Meanwhile, Jurrien Timber received a framed commemorative shirt to mark his 100th appearance for the North London club.
Arsenal were without Bukayo Saka, who injured his quadriceps against Bayern Munich and is awaiting scan results. The winger was forced off after just ten minutes. Christos Tzolis is also a doubt after suffering a hamstring injury while playing for Greece during the international break.
Hincapié’s return could strengthen Arsenal’s defence for Saturday’s match against Everton, although his availability will depend on how he responds to training in the lead-up to the game.
