Champions League Table After Man Utd Won 3-2

According to a report by BBC Sport on Tuesday November 3, 2026, Manchester United staged an impressive comeback to secure a thrilling 3-2 victory over AS Roma in their UEFA Champions League encounter after initially falling two goals behind.

Roma made a strong start to the contest and opened the scoring in the 11th minute. Rodrigo Mora supplied a brilliant lofted pass to Matias Soule, who calmly found the back of the net to give the visitors an early advantage.

The Italian side increased their lead just six minutes later after Ayden Heaven was penalised for handball inside the penalty area. Donyell Malen stepped forward and successfully converted the resulting penalty, putting Manchester United in a difficult position.

Despite efforts from Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha to inspire an attacking response, United struggled to break through Roma's organised defence during the first half. Kobbie Mainoo came close to reducing the deficit, but his attempt was stopped by goalkeeper Devis Stiven Vasquez Llach. Roma also threatened further when Soule hit the woodwork.

Manchester United showed significant improvement after the restart, although an injury to Carlos Baleba forced Michael Carrick to make a midfield substitution, bringing on Youri Tielemans.

The hosts eventually found a way back into the match in the 58th minute when Bruno Fernandes converted a retaken penalty. The Portuguese midfielder had initially failed to score from the spot, but the referee ordered another attempt, which he successfully converted.

United continued pushing forward in search of an equaliser, with Bryan Mbeumo coming particularly close in the 59th minute when his attempted lob struck the left-hand post.

Their persistence finally paid off in the 83rd minute. Fernandes produced an excellent delivery into the penalty area, and Matheus Cunha finished brilliantly into the bottom-right corner to restore hope for the home supporters.

Just three minutes later, the Brazilian forward struck again to complete Manchester United's remarkable turnaround. Shea Lacey provided an excellent pass, which Cunha converted with a composed finish inside the right post.

However, Cunha's memorable performance ended with a dismissal in stoppage time after he received his second yellow card, leaving United to defend their advantage with ten men.

Roma attempted to take advantage of their numerical superiority in the closing moments, but Manchester United held on to claim all three points.

The victory represents an important result for the Red Devils in their Champions League campaign. Their ability to recover from a two-goal disadvantage also demonstrates the fighting spirit within Carrick's team.

Following the conclusion of the encounter, attention will now turn to the updated Champions League standings and Manchester United's position after their dramatic victory over Roma.
