Manchester City have collected 18 points from six matches, maintaining a perfect record after winning all their league fixtures this season.
Andrée Jeglertz’s side raced into a three-goal lead against Brighton, with Khadija Shaw scoring twice and Niamh Charles adding another goal. Brighton responded through Olivia Garcia and Caitlin Hayes, but City held on to secure another three points.
Chelsea remain second with 16 points after producing a dominant performance to beat Tottenham 6-2 at Stamford Bridge.

The result leaves Chelsea two points behind Manchester City after six matches, with the London club continuing their unbeaten start to the campaign.
London City Lionesses occupy third place with 15 points following their 2-1 victory over Everton. The result maintained their position among the leading contenders after an impressive start to their first season in the top division.
Tottenham remain fourth with 10 points despite suffering another heavy defeat. Their loss to Chelsea followed a damaging 6-1 defeat against London City Lionesses, leaving the north London club with defensive concerns.
Manchester United are fifth, also on 10 points, after recording a 3-1 victory over Charlton Athletic. The result helped United return to winning ways and remain within reach of the teams above them.
Arsenal’s difficult start continued on Saturday when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Birmingham City at the Emirates Stadium.
Olivia Smith scored Arsenal’s equaliser after Birmingham had taken the lead through Océane Hurtré. The result extended Arsenal’s winless run in the league to five matches, leaving them eighth with six points from six games.

Elsewhere, West Ham United defeated Crystal Palace 1-0, while Aston Villa secured their first league victory of the season with a 2-1 comeback win over Liverpool.
At the bottom of the table, Charlton Athletic remain 14th with zero points after losing all six of their opening matches, leaving them bottom of the standings.
