Super Eagles winger Moses Simon has helped Paris FC secure a deserved victory on Sunday night, registering his first assist of the 2026/27 season in their impressive 3-1 win over AS Monaco in Ligue 1.
The Nigerian international played an important role in the victory by setting up Lassine Sinayoko to score Paris FC's second goal in the 44th minute at the Stade Jean Bouin.
Simon’s contribution came at a crucial moment as Paris FC looked to establish control before the half-time break, giving the hosts an important advantage against their more established opponents.
The goal was particularly significant for Simon, who had been looking for his first assist of the campaign.
His well-timed pass allowed Sinayoko to complete his brace and put Paris FC 2-0 ahead before the interval.
Sinayoko had opened the scoring in the 38th minute by finishing off a pass from Maxime Lopez.
The Malian forward then doubled his tally six minutes later through Simon's assist to give the home side a comfortable half-time lead.
Monaco attempted to fight their way back into the contest after the restart, with Folarin Balogun reducing the deficit in the 66th minute.
However, Paris FC restored their two-goal advantage in the 74th minute when Pablo Pagis converted Sinayoko's pass to make it 3-1.
The hosts maintained their advantage until the final whistle to secure an important three points against one of Ligue 1's established sides.
The victory takes Paris FC to fourth position in the Ligue 1 standings with 17 points from nine matches.
They are level on points with third-placed Lyon, one point behind Lille and just three points adrift of league leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
For Simon, the assist represents an encouraging contribution as he continues his campaign with the newly promoted Parisian side.
The Nigerian winger will hope to build on the performance and maintain his influence in the team's attacking department as the French league season progresses.
