Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru came off the bench to help Lazio secure victory over Sassuolo in an 8-goal thriller contest.
The midfielder provided an assist as Lazio secured an emphatic 6-2 away victory over Sassuolo in an entertaining Serie A encounter on Tuesday.
The Nigerian international played a key role in the closing stages of the match at the Mapei Stadium, setting up Tijjani Noslin for his second goal of the game as Lazio continued their impressive start to the Italian league campaign.
Dele-Bashiru started the encounter on the bench before being introduced at half-time to replace Kenneth Taylor as Lazio sought to maintain their advantage in a match that produced eight goals.
Lazio had taken an early lead through Taylor in the second minute, but Kristian Thorstvedt equalized for Sassuolo five minutes later.
LGustav Isaksen restored the visitors' advantage in the 13th minute before Romano Floriani Mussolini extended their lead three minutes later.
Despite Sassuolo reducing the deficit through Sebastiano Esposito in the 43rd minute, Mattia Zaccagni scored in first-half stoppage time to give Lazio a 4-2 advantage at the break.
The hosts' task became more difficult when Thorstvedt received a straight red card in the 31st minute for a dangerous challenge on Zaccagni, leaving Sassuolo to play with 10 men for most of the contest.
Lazio continued to dominate after the interval, with Noslin scoring his first goal of the second half in the 55th minute to make it 5-2.
The Dutch forward completed his brace in the 65th minute, converting Dele-Bashiru's assist to seal the comprehensive victory for the visitors.
The win further strengthened Lazio's position in the Serie A title race, taking their points tally to 25 after nine league matches.
They moved to the top of the standings, pending the outcome of Inter Milan's match against Venezia.
