Arsenal’s Possible XI for Bayern Munich Champions League Clash

According to a report by Evening Standard on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, Noni Madueke could earn a starting place in Arsenal’s lineup for their Champions League clash against Bayern Munich on Wednesday after impressing against Nottingham Forest.

The England international came off the bench to score the winning goal in Arsenal’s 1-0 Premier League victory over Forest at the weekend, strengthening his case to start on the left wing at the Allianz Arena.

Madueke could replace Eberechi Eze, who started against Forest but was substituted at half-time after struggling to make an impact.

Mikel Arteta is expected to make limited changes to his starting lineup for the encounter against Vincent Kompany’s side, although Jurrien Timber could return at right-back as he continues to share playing time with Ben White.

In defence, Timber is predicted to join Ezri Konsa, Gabriel Magalhães and Riccardo Calafiori, with David Raya retaining his position in goal.

William Saliba, Piero Hincapie and Christos Tzolis are listed among Arsenal’s injured players ahead of the fixture, potentially limiting Arteta’s defensive and attacking options.

In midfield, Declan Rice is expected to retain his place, while Myles Lewis-Skelly could be selected ahead of Bruno Guimaraes.

Martin Zubimendi is also available again after recovering from a minor hamstring problem. However, his limited playing time this season makes a starting appearance against Bayern less likely.

Martin Odegaard is expected to operate in the attacking midfield role, with Bukayo Saka on the right wing and Madueke potentially completing the attacking trio behind the central striker.

The biggest selection decision for Arteta could come at centre-forward, where Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres are competing for a starting place.

Gyokeres has started both of Arsenal’s Champions League matches this season but is yet to score for the club. Havertz, meanwhile, has struggled to reach his best form since the international break.

Despite those concerns, Arteta could favour Havertz for the demanding encounter in Germany, given his tendency to turn to the German international in major matches.

Predicted Arsenal XI: Raya; Timber, Konsa, Gabriel, Calafiori; Rice, Lewis-Skelly; Saka, Odegaard, Madueke; Havertz.
