Thierry Henry Identifies Two Arsenal Stars Who Could Hurt Liverpool At Anfield

According to a report by Metro on Thursday, October 29, 2026, former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry has backed Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke to make a significant impact when Mikel Arteta's side face Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.

Arsenal will travel to Anfield looking to return to winning ways after suffering a surprising Carabao Cup defeat to League Two side Fleetwood Town on Tuesday.

However, the Gunners face a difficult challenge against Liverpool, who currently occupy fourth position in the Premier League table and have won their last five matches across all competitions.

Arteta's selection options have also been affected by injuries, with Bukayo Saka unavailable after sustaining a quad injury against Bayern Munich. Christos Tzolis is also working towards returning after missing Arsenal's last six matches.

In the absence of key players, Eze and Madueke have taken on greater responsibility in providing attacking contributions from the wide areas.

Henry is confident that both players can deliver when given opportunities, pointing to their recent performances as evidence of their importance to the Arsenal squad.

Speaking to Betway, the former Arsenal striker highlighted the importance of having quality alternatives available when injuries affect the starting lineup.

He explained that Arteta understands the challenges of a long season and expects players who receive opportunities to demonstrate their abilities.

Henry also pointed to Eze's goal against Bayern Munich and Madueke's contribution against Nottingham Forest, where the winger came off the bench to score.

The Frenchman added that Arsenal's substitutes have demonstrated their ability to influence matches, stressing that their contributions show the strength available to Arteta beyond his regular starting eleven.

Henry also recalled Arsenal's previous ability to cope with the absence of important players, including Saka, Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz, while continuing to find ways to win matches.

He highlighted Ezri Konsa and Gabriel's goals as examples of different players stepping up to contribute when the team needs them.

The former forward also assessed Arsenal's recent performances, noting that the team responded positively after their defeat against Brighton.

He was particularly impressed with their approach against Bayern Munich, highlighting their possession, pressing and ability to play through the opposition's defensive lines.

However, Henry acknowledged that Liverpool would provide another difficult test, especially after their impressive victory over Brighton.

Arsenal will now look to produce a strong performance at Anfield on Sunday, with Eze and Madueke expected to play important roles as Arteta manages his injury-hit squad.
