Liverpool Superstar Ruled Out of Arsenal Match With New Injury

According to a report by London Evening Standard on Tuesday October 20, 2026, manager Andoni Iraola expects defender Jeremie Frimpong to sit out until the November international break, so Liverpool will be without him for their forthcoming Premier League match against Arsenal.

On Monday, Iraola provided conflicting injury updates on Frimpong and Dominik Szoboszlai, explaining that one player is expected to be out for a long time and the other is getting closer to a return to action.

Concerns about another setback have been raised after Szoboszlai recently experienced discomfort while making his comeback from injury. The good news for Liverpool fans is that Iraola has verified the midfielder's hamstring injury has not gotten much worse.

The situation with Szoboszlai is still the same as it was last week, according to the Liverpool manager. Even though the midfielder may sit out the following two games, he should be good to go after that.

The defender Frimpong has a new muscle problem right after his last appearance, which is a major cause for concern. Liverpool does not yet know when he will be able to return to the team.

Iraola stated, "I think they are different circumstances," clarifying that Frimpong's new muscle injury happened within the first few minutes of his appearance, which makes it difficult to predict when he will recover.

Even though it would be challenging to achieve that goal given the circumstances surrounding Frimpong's injury, the manager did say that Liverpool would try to have him available before the international break.

The midfielder had not made his preexisting condition worse, according to Iraola, who was speaking about Szoboszlai. While he finishes healing and gets back to full fitness, Liverpool should just be patient.

Because of these divergent circumstances, Frimpong is not likely to play and Szoboszlai has a better chance of starting for Liverpool when Arsenal visits Anfield on November 1.

Before taking on Arsenal, Liverpool have a slew of important fixtures, such as a Premier League match against Brighton, a Champions League match against Villarreal, and a League Cup match against Chelsea.

With all three games taking place at Anfield, Liverpool can keep a close eye on both players' development over the next few days and manage their roster accordingly.

With a trip to Fenerbahce and Crystal Palace ahead of them before the November international break, Frimpong may have more time to recover after Arsenal's visit. timing device
